Berovo
Berovo is located in the Maleshevo Mountans, in eastern part of the R. of Macedonia at an altitude of 800m.
You can take a walking tour around and cross the town, starting from the Villa Amika, through the park in the town walking by the quay of the river Bregalnica, than the center, finishing till the end of the city where is located a famous female monastery St. Archangel Michael - (2km total distance from the Villa Amika). Next to the monastery is located Hotel "Manastir" which has a restaurant where you can taste a delicious specialties famous for this region.
On the high hill above the town is located place “Juovets”, there is a beautiful view of the town and a restaurant "Ristovo Meanche" that have a tasty and nice food.
In the centre of the town are located many small shops, shop for food, fruits and vegetables, bakery, fast food, coffe-bar and restaurants. Near the centre you can visit the famous restaurant "MRS" for its potato specialties, grill and other local specialties.
Berovo Lake
Berovo Lake is located 6,5 km from the house Amika in Berovo.
The shores of the lake are with lush pine trees and deciduous forest. The dam was built in 1970 with a height of 60 m which is one of the largest dams in the Republic of Macedonia. Having the highest concentration of oxygen in the Balkans though, the area around Berovo is considered to be an air spa. And this, decorated still further by a gorgeous mountain lake surrounded by pine forest, may have to do with Macedonians calling Berovo “little Switzerland”.
There is a marked walking path around the lake which will provide you nice and relaxing walk, energising with fresh and clean air. Around the lake there are many cottages and villas, and here is the famous tourist centre Aurora. If you are lovers of walking or mountain biking, several kilometres of paths are connected that connect the city to the lake and to the tourist settlement Ravna Reka - Pehcevo. Maleshevo area
At the foot of the Malesh Mountains lies our "little Switzerland". Treasure of pines, oaks and beech forests, clean river, waterfalls, beautiful lake and the highest concentration of oxygen in the air in the whole Balkan region. On a distance of 20km from the Villa Amika there are located attractive locations that we recommend you to visit, as are:
- Shepfold Klepalo - on a distance of 16,2km from the villa, up on the high hill there is a restaurant and sheepfold 'Klepalo', where you can taste the most famous sheep cheese from the place where it is produced.
- Pehchevo's waterfalls - Ravna Reka is on a distance of 20km northeast from the villa. There are few waterfalls that are hidden in the amazing, magic and breathtaking forest.
- Bela Voda is a tourist complex on 20km on the south from the villa Amika. There is a nice restaurant surrounded with a breathtaking nature.
- If you are looking for an adventure, on a distance of 10km from the Villa, there is an Adrenaline trail and zipline park, located in the town Pehchevo - (resrvations are made at Hotel Gogov - Pehchevo).
